2 methods: Delete additional paragraphs and page breaks Delete a blank page at the end of a table

Additional blank pages in Microsoft Word are usually the result of additional paragraphs or page breaks. If you have tried (and could not) remove a page by clicking on the lower right corner of a blank page and pressing the space bar until it disappears, you can solve the problem by removing all hidden format markers. Learn how to show and remove paragraph markers and page breaks, and what to do if you find one that can not be deleted.

Method
1
Delete additional paragraphs and page breaks

1
Open the document in Word. In many cases, blank pages in a Word document are the result of additional paragraphs or page breaks added. You must activate the formatting markers in Word to determine if that is what is causing the problem.

2
Press ^ Ctrl + Shift + 8 (on Windows) or ⌘ Cmd + 8 (on Mac). Now you will see the paragraph markers (¶) at the beginning of each blank line, as well as at the end of the existing paragraphs. You may also see lines that say "Page break". [1]

3
Go to a blank page. If you see a ¶ or a line that says "Page Break" on the blank page, you will have to delete it.

4
Highlight the ¶ mark or the page break with your mouse. If you see both (or more than one of each), highlight all in front.

5
Press the Delete key. So you must remove all marks ¶ and page breaks. You may have to press Delete a few more times to erase the entire page.
If there is a paragraph mark that you can not delete, it may be at the end of a table. [2] See the section Delete a blank page at the end of a table in this article.

Disable paragraph marks. Now you can make those markers invisible again. Click on the ¶ icon or use one of these keyboard shortcuts:
Windows: ^ Ctrl + Shift + 8
Mac: ⌘ Cmd + 8
Method
2
Delete a blank page at the end of a table

1
Open the document in Word. Blank pages that can not be deleted can appear in documents that end with tables. The position of the table requires Word to store the format information of the document in an empty paragraph just below the table. [3] You will not be able to delete that paragraph; however, you can reduce it to eliminate the blank page.
Try this method if you are using a Word template (for example, resumes, charts or brochures, since these usually contain tables).

2
Go to the Table Tools tab. If you do not see the tab at the top of the screen, click somewhere in the text just above the blank page and it should appear.

3
Click on "Design" in the Table Tools tab. The table settings will appear in the top bar.

4
Select "View grid lines." Now you should see visible lines surrounding the text that is just before the blank page that you do not want.

5
Activate paragraph marks. This will cause many paragraph symbols (¶) to appear on your page. You can do it like this: [4]
Windows: ^ Ctrl + Shift + 8
Mac: ⌘ Cmd + 8

6
Select the symbol ¶ that is just below the table. If you see more than one symbol ¶, use the mouse to select all of them. [5]

7
Go to the Home tab. Now that the paragraph marker is selected, it is time to change the font size.

8
Click once you are inside the font size box. The box contains a number (for example, 12) and is right next to the name of the font (for example, Times New Roman).

9
Press 1 and then ⌅ Enter. This will reduce the size of the hidden paragraph and thus will not occupy the entire blank page. The blank page should disappear immediately.

Disable paragraph marks. Now you can make those markers invisible again. Click on the ¶ icon or use one of these keyboard shortcuts:
